A new reconstructed terminal of Tbilisi International Airport has been recently put into operation.
The reconstruction works were carried out by Turkish consortium TAV-Urban Georgia which was entrusted with the management of the airport for the period of 15 years starting from 2005. The cost of the reconstruction project amounts $62 million.
Under the project the runway has been renovated, the airport terminal, covering an area of 25,000 square metres, has been provided with three remote-controlled ramps.
After reconstruction Tbilisi Airport has become one of the biggest regional airports with the capacity of 1,500 passengers per hour. |
