How does Pafos differ from other regions of Cyprus?

Pafos! The town is regarded as the capital of the island's western district. Its growing airport receives an ever increasing number of direct scheduled as well as chartered flights, arriving mainly from Europe. A modern highway links it to Limassol, which in turn connects to all the other towns on the island.

It is the smallest and most charming of the island's towns. Its quaint fishing harbour and fort, now the main focal points of the town, stand as reminders that Pafos is one of Cyprus' oldest settlements. A rich historical, archaeological and cultural heritage, coupled with unspoiled, scenic countryside are the defining characteristics of Pafos.
Pafos has a rich culture and a deep history, which is evident in its numerous ancient ruins and historical sites, as well as in the monasteries and churches that lie in the surrounding countryside. Pafos has also featured prominently in Greek mythology. The legendary birth of Aphrodite on the hores of Pafos brought fame and worshippers following the cult of the goddess, to the town. "Petra tou Romiou", the evocative sanctuary of Aphrodite and the Baths of Aphrodite are just a few of the landmarks attributed to the goddess that are located in close proximity to Pafos. Even the town's name is linked to the goddess, for Pafos was the name of the mythological daughter of Venus and Pygmalion.
What other Cypriot areas can be explored by groups staying in Pafos? The beautiful and picturesque surroundings of Pafos include the Akamas Peninsular, home of the small towns of Latchi and Polis, which are now beginning to attract more and more visitors. The Akamas Peninsular offers unspoiled beaches and venues for exclusive beach parties that can cater for larger groups. The mountainous regions surrounding Pafos are also of interest and the development of agrotourism in the area has created alternative dining venues for smaller groups in traditional houses and villages.
What unusual venues are good for evening receptions in Pafos? The Pafos area offers a variety of choices for the hosting of evening receptions. Of course, the venue will always depend on the requirements and budget of each individual client. Venues can include authentic restaurants, historical sites or natural and remote areas which can be decorated according to the theme or purpose of the event. There is, however, a limited number of dining venues that can cater for larger groups.
Which restaurants in Pafos would recommend to corporate groups? Again, each client has different needs and the size of the group will usually play a large role in determining the suitability of a venue or restaurant. Also the time of the year visiting the town. Pafos does, however, offer a large variety of restaurants for smaller size groups, ranging from traditional taverns to restaurants offering fusion, ethnic and international cuisine.
What is the nightlife in Pafos like? This is an interesting question! There is a multitude of options to suit all tastes and lifestyles.
Which will be the most appropriate hotel to accommodate your event? Premier Destination Management is associated with the top 5-star, and not only, hotels in the district of Pafos, where service is up to the high standard our industry demands. Each establishment has its particular features, in terms of general ambience, variety of room types, spacious function halls and venues or a more private setting, gastronomy as well as spa facilities.
Thanks to our years of experience and long-standing cooperation with these hotels, we are in a position to offer reliable recommendations to match a group's profile.
Pafos today is synonymous with history, mythology, and golf...! As a UNESCO World Heritage Site it is dotted with traces of antiquity. As the birth place of Aphrodite, it has an unmistakable air of romance. And with the island's most popular golf courses concentrated in the area, no more than 30 minutes' drive from the hotel of your choice, it is a golfer's paradise. A business agenda can therefore easily be laced with a day on the greens and/or fascinating cultural insight!
Shall we discribe Pafos in three words?
Charming, Historical and Picturesque!
We will be glad to support you experience!
Best regards,
PREMIER DESTINATION MANAGEMENT TEAM
