www.travelwirenews.com The Muscat Festival 2007 under the theme ‘Living Culture and Family Fun’ is currently drawing streams of visitors not only from the Gulf Cooperation Countries but also from Europe.
The programs are being held in three major venues  Qurum Natual Park, Festival Ground in Azaiba and Shatti Al Bahjain, in the wilayat of Seeb. The new edition of Muscat Festival 2007, organized by Muscat Municipality, will run until February 2.
Under the theme of Heritage Events, the most interesting is the Omani Heritage Village, followed by Arabian Markets, International Theatre, and Forum of People’s Cultures.
The International Theatre is currently featuring popular shows from participating countries daily between 6pm to 10.45 pm. The Forum of People’s Cultures is seeing the participation of Egypt, Tanzania (Zanzibar), Turkey, Kuwait, India, Algeria, China, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
The Family Village has an interesting bend of events. This includes Unicef activities, balanced diet events, British Council and British Embassy, Family and Arts, Children’s activities, Library, The Internet Corner, Environmental competitions, Local environment fair, hereditary health clinic, junior photographers, Omani marine life.
Some of the other events which take place daily include chess competitions, Omani Fishermen’s exhibition, Clay painting of Bahja and Muscat Festival Logo, Blood Bank Corner, Early Intervention Corner, Students Talents in fine arts, You and the roses corner, Charity Fair for psychiatric patients, Psychology clinic, International Show for car number plate and Asian Artifact Exhibition.
A number of shows by schools like operettas, poetry, plays, competitions and group activities are being held at the Qurum Natural Park.
At the Silver Jubilee Theatre, there are events like Kolfo: Dogs-Glow exhibition, Oliver adventure shows, flying acrobat shows and Chinese acrobats shows.
The City Amphitheatre is busy with Arabic and Indian musical shows, children and adult theatre.
