Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, a member of the luxury hotel group Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, commenced a three-day programme of highlighting the property’s signature “smile-making” luxury moments today at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in Cannes, France. Regarded as the world’s leading ‘invitation only’ event for the global luxury travel community, the annual event brings together the world’s most sought after collection of luxury experiences for the most discerning international luxury travel buyers. Attending the event for the first time, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers is promoting the property and Abu Dhabi as a modern cosmopolitan luxury destination, offering thoughtful design and interiors of superior craftsmanship, individualised service, gourmet adventures par excellence, culturally connected experiences and a continuum of unique luxury moments specifically designed to bring a smile to even the most well-traversed luxury traveller.
Speaking about the hotel’s participation at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM), from 4 – 6 December, 2012 in Cannes, France, Doris Greif, General Manager, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers stated: “Notions of luxury continue to evolve and hoteliers must evolve with it. What may have been considered a touch point of luxury for guests in the past may now be expected as a standard. We recognise luxury as moments comprising various components each of exceptional quality, and measure it by how often we can bring a smile to the guest’s face. Ability to pleasantly surprise, often conveyed with small amounts of subtle humour has proven extremely successful, and is based on the Jumeirah promise to STAY DIFFERENT™.”
From the moment of entering the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers guests are greeted by a stunning open vista of the Arabian Gulf, an expansive and airy Lobby Lounge humming with social activity, and giant bespoke Czech-made crystal chandeliers that shimmer in the natural sunlight during the day and sparkle lit-up from the evening. Signature experiences warmly welcomed by guests since the hotel’s opening in November 2011 include new coffee experiences with Jumeirah at Etihad Towers’ Coffee Spice, which is exclusive to Jumeirah at Etihad Towers and is a unique spice mix blend created especially for the hotel by Germany’s Chef Alfons Schuhbeck, of the Michelin-starred restaurant fame. The spice is an exotic mix of various Arabian favourites including cardamom and cinnamon that are perfectly balanced to provide an aromatic taste of Abu Dhabi-inspired flavours to lift any coffee. The signature Coffee Spice proves the perfect accompaniment especially to café lattes and cappuccinos. For a truly Jumeirah at Etihad Towers coffee experience however, the Coffee Spice sprinkled over the stiff foam of a freshly made “Camelccino”, which is a quality cappuccino made from camel’s milk is recommended. Still within the Lobby Lounge both the hotel’s “Tea at the Towers” tea service and Gourmet Fashion Cupcakes have become an Abu Dhabi favourite of visitors and local residents alike.
Gourmet experiences abound with many of the hotel’s restaurants receiving local culinary awards and Chef Benjamin Whatt of the hotel’s signature restaurant Quest, which is located on Level 63, winning Abu Dhabi’s Chef of the Year 2012 by What’s On Abu Dhabi. Hotel rooms and suites have been thoughtfully designed for maximum comfort, convenience and style, and include personal touches such as art works from His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan’s private photography collection depicting daily life in Abu Dhabi during the 1950s and 60s. The hotel’s “Bathrooms with a View” provide relaxing moments of self-pampering while enjoying Abu Dhabi’s Arabian Gulf, Corniche and city scape views of the world below, and even in public areas, the bespoke Czech-made “Oculus” art instillation in the Conference Centre’s pre-function area with over 262,800 individual pieces of handcrafted crystal and glass never fails to leave guests spellbound. Even the hotel’s “Jewelry Box” elevators made from semi-precious stone continously amaze time after time and make the otherwise mundane extraordinary.
Thoughtful service also permeates throughout each guest’s stay, with free iPad usage available within all of the hotel’s limousine fleet as well as in the Club Executive Lounge. Along with Talise Spa bespoke treatments in fully contained Treatment Suites, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers has become a luxury destination within itself following the recent opening of the Avenue at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi’s dedicated luxury shopping experience located within the Etihad Towers complex, which houses a selection of flagship stores, designer boutiques and high-end outlets offering an assortment of luxury fashion, jewellery, time pieces and accessories including; Bally, Burberry, Canali, Cartier, Chloé, Fauchon, Giuseppe Zanotti, Hermès, Hervé Leger, IWC & Roger Dubuis, Jaeger – LeCoultre, Lange & Söhne, Manolo Blahnik, Montblanc, Panerai, Piaget, Rolex, Salvatore Ferragamo, Van Cleef & Arpels and Versace.
Another recently opened attraction adding to Abu Dhabi’s luxury experience line-up is The Observation Deck at 300, located on Level 74 at 300 metres above the nation’s capital, offering visitors 360 degree panoramic views from Tower 2 of the Etihad Towers complex. The Observation Deck at 300 and its café offering elaborate mocktails, including its signature Etihad Sparkler mocktail, soft drinks, coffees and Abu Dhabi’s highest high tea service, as well as desserts and salads, is a popular destination for visitors to the city and local residents alike, and provides a unique luxury venue for exclusive private events and functions in the evening.
Says Greif: “From the outset Jumeirah at Etihad Towers was envisaged to become an Abu Dhabi landmark of distinction, offering visiting guests a welcoming and relaxed environment built with quality materials and craftsmanship, offering thoughtful bespoke hospitality services, and opportunities for new gourmet experiences. In a little over one year since first opening we have become an Abu Dhabi icon of luxury experiences where local residents proudly promote the property as their own. This is a great honour, which in addition to us always striving to bring a smile to the face of our guests, brings a genuine smile to our own.”
