12th German-Arab Tourism Forum
|
|
Growth of the Arab countries’ tourism sectors is an essential part of the overall economic development of the region. Following the political conditions, particularly in North Africa and Levant, the tourism sector was suffering from losses and lack of confidence last year. In the mid-term however, growth prospects are far better and a recovery will take place that in the long run will also be reinforced by diversification and modernization strategies of Arab countries.
In order to enhance and deepen cooperation ties between German and Arab companies and institutions of the tourism sector
12th German-Arab Tourism Forum
on March 7th, 2012
at the Marshall Haus, Messe Berlin
along with our partners, the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO), the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Messe Berlin, within the framework of the International Tourism Bourse 2012.
One year after the beginning of the Arab spring this Forum will provide an excellent platform to exchange ideas and experiences on projects and perspectives of the tourism sector in Arab countries, especially in Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan and the GCC states.
Besides the recovery of the tourism sector in those countries affected by political developments, the sector is emerging rapidly in other Arab countries. The Arab Gulf states for instance plan huge investments in tourism infrastructure while their airlines expand their activities in Europe.
More than 300 participants are expected to attend the Forum, among them high-ranking representatives of the Arab tourism sector as well as respected tourism experts and decision-makers.
