www.iranian.ws Director General of the Department of Environment of Lorestan province Mohammad Karamollahi here said that since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 21) the provincial protected sites have been toured by over 60,000 tourists.
He added that the majority of the visitors have toured Sepidkouh and Oshtorankouh areas as well as Lorestan's marshlands.
"Meanwhile, 1,659 tourist groups comprising 18,165 tourists visited Gohar Lake. Other tourist areas of the province including Kamandan snow-covered mountain, Azna waterfall, Espar valley, Yafteh mountain, Deraz and Espar rivers and other recreational centers were also toured.
"Unfortunately, the province merely attracted a limited number of foreign tourists, namely 18 who visited Lorestan's tourist attractions in seven groups," he added.
He referred to improper dissemination of information, lack of knowledge on the original and natural landscapes of Lorestan province as well as recreational and welfare facilities as the most important reason for the little appeal of the area to tourists.
Turning to the positive impact of promotion of tourism and attraction of domestic and foreign tourists on expediting the development trend of the province, he noted that normally every tourist visiting the area directly creates jobs for three individuals.
"Establishment of lodges and recreational facilities as well as rendering proper service are one of the most required primary steps towards attraction of tourists and promotion of tourist industry in the province," concluded Karamollah |
