Iran will participate for the second time in the third Bahrain Medical Tourism Exhibition which will be held from 14 to 16 of December 2005.
Besides Arabic countries of the region, some countries from Central Asia, Far East, Europe, and North Africa will also participate in the exhibition to introduce their capabilities in this regard.
Iran’s main purpose of attending the exhibition is to develop and improve the country’s water therapy industry.
“Iran’s water therapy centers are trying to better their qualities in this respect; the more international relations, the better the quality of the services aimed at attracting more tourists,” says Esrafil Shafizadeh, director of Iran’s medical tourism group.
In the competitive market of medical tourism, Iran enjoys some great advantageous, therefore, is trying to promote and introduce the field with participation in the exhibition with the attendance of some travel agencies, public and private medical centers, hospitals, and organizations affiliated with medical tourism such as the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization of Iran, Ministry of Health, and Iran’s Social Security Organization.
According to Shafizadeh, the exhibition will provide an opportunity for the medical centers, hospitals, and other service providing organizations to introduce their capabilities and potentials.
Iran’s medical tours group is looking for making use of the provided opportunities in the region and with participating in such exhibitions the tours are trying to introduce Iran’s water therapy centers, to attract patients from Arabic countries to Iran, and to negotiate with Bahraini agencies which are active in introducing patients and medical tourists to related centers.
The last year exhibition in Bahrain was visited by about 250 Iranian medical doctors who expanded their scientific knowledge in this respect. Some scientific seminars are planned to be held by the participant countries during this year’s exhibition to help improve participants’ information of the field.
Attracting patients from foreign countries, providing medical and water therapy capabilities, building relations with international medical associations to introduce Iran as a medical tourism destination, and getting familiar with the market demands in the field of medical equipments are among Iran’s others aims of participating in the exhibition.
Iran had a successful presence in the last year’s exhibition of Bahrain, introducing its capabilities to foreigners through pictures, posters, catalogues, and slides. |
