ETurboNews Aimed to promote Nepal’s tourism industry while showcasing a platform to tourism entrepreneurs from neighboring countries, Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agent (NATTA) hosted successfully the first NATTA Travel Mart 2005 from May12 to 14.

In a grand festival, Crown Prince Paras Bir Bikram Shah Dev inaugurated the first NATTA Travel Mart-2005 at the Birendra International Convention Centre. Crown Prince also inspected the stalls of the travel mart and enquired about the various tourism products. He also gave audience to the international delegates.

Nepal’s minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Buddhi Raj Bajracharya, said that Nepal is planning to formulate effective programs for the development of tourism in Nepal.

According to the Nepalese minister, Nepal has remained one of the safest destinations in the world. “None of the tourists are misbehaved in Nepal so far,” he said.

Addresses were also made by NATTA president, Rabi Poudel, and tour operators from other countries at the event.

Nepal’s tourism industry welcomed the effort by NATTA in hosting the even. All the participants hoped that NATTA travel mart will emerge as a prominent platform among regional and international travel trade entrepreneurs in the years to come.

A total of 168 tour and travel entrepreneurs and travel operators from 15 countries took part in the travel mart.
