Hong Kong To Host International Travel Expo (ITE)

http://www.itehk.com/  The 23rd edition of International Travel Expo (ITE) will be held from 11-14 Jun 2009 in Hong Kong - which is China's richest city!

Though Hong Kong only has  a population of 7 million, it  was ranked fourth in Asia by international tourism expenditure at US$14 billion in 2006 by UNWTO, after Japan, mainland China (US$24.3 billion) and South Korea. Inbound last year from Hong Kong and mainland China were respectively 0.1 and 0.155 million for Canada, and 0.43 and 0.51 million for Japan. In fact, Hong Kong residents made 80.7 million departures in 2007, with some 5.5 million travelling  abroad. Over  20 million overnight trips  were made to mainland China.

ITE  is the  only international travel expo to be held in Hong Kong once a year with the participation of   Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Egypt, Yemen, and Turkey, Finland, France, Germany, UK, Spain, Czech, Hungary, Romania, Russia and Switzerland.

In 2008, the expo drew over 650 exhibitors from 50 countries and regions; there were  40 official pavilions with half of them from Europe, the Americas, Middle East and Africa.

The expo provides exhibitors an effective platform for meeting nearly 13,000 trade and corporate visitors.  Last year 20%  of visitors were from mainland China and 15% from other parts of Asia.

ITE is being held concurrently with ITE MICE, which brought into the travel expo thousands of corporate visitors. ITE & ITE MICE are supported by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong.

For further details of this Travel Expo and a daily market news summary, please visit official website of http://www.itehk.com/ or send email to the organizer, TKS Exhibition by email: travel@tkshk.com.
