Kenyan Tourism With A Social Conscience

http://www.dragoman.com/ Just outside Nairobi, it's back to school for travellers (but in a good way!) as they get hands-on at the Kariandusi School Trust's latest project at Langalanga, following the earlier raising of £45,000 through Dragoman, and building of eight new classrooms.

Here, participation in teaching, buildings fabrication and land management is the order of the day. Further highlights of the tour include exploring the flamingo-rich Lake Nakuru, visiting ‘Elsamere' - once home of the Adamsons of Born Free fame, game drives in Serengeti National Park and a jeep safari in Ngorongoro Crater.

An overnight at a Masai Boma - a Dragoman-supported community project, gives travellers a genuine insight into a traditional pastoral way of life. Later, more wildlife of a reptilian nature is observed at Arusha's snake park before heading to the coast for an idyllic 3-night stay on the exotic Indian Ocean island of Zanzibar.
