Islamic Theme Park Attracts 1.9 Million Visitors

http://www.tti.com.my/ Since it opened its doors to tourists in February 2008, the Islamic Civilization Theme Park in Kuala Terengganu , Malaysia , has attracted 1.9 million visitors.

Za'abar Mohd Adib, an official of the Malaysian Tourism, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee, said all 21 scaled replicas of the world's most famous Islamic monuments and mosques had been completed -- including the Taj Mahal in India, the Al-Hambra in Spain, Al-Aqsa mosque in Quds, the Kaylan Tower in Uzbekistan and the Kudus Minar in Indonesia.

Acclaimed as the first and only Islamic Civilization Park, it houses century old and modern age Islamic architecture and artworks of rich and colourful heritage.

The main centrepiece features a floating Crystal Glass Mosque. The park also has among others the best in east coast convention centre, a custom made port of entry and a commercial complex. Located on a 33.01 ha site, the park is by the main Terengganu River , and set to become one of the most distinguished and unique tourist attractions in Malaysia and indeed in the world.
