Snowboarders and skiers in the UAE can now book a trip to the slopes with Etihad Holidays, whose new winter holidays brochure features fantastic packages to destinations across the Etihad Airways network.
Holidays in the snow-capped mountains of Lebanon, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy and the USA start from Dhs 3,650 for a three-night break in Lebanon, and include return Coral Economy Class flights with Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi, breakfast and airport transfers.
Tony Gauci, Etihad’s head of direct sales, said: “Etihad Holidays’ extensive programme includes top ski resorts at one of the world’s most famous ski areas such as Breckendridge, Colorado in USA and Zermatt in Switzerland, as well small and friendly chalet-style hotels in Europe offering a homely alpine stay.
“The new brochure caters for all tastes and budgets, whether you are travelling with family or a group of friends.”
Lebanon has firmly established itself on the global ski map in recent years and Etihad Holidays is offering breaks to the Faraya-Mzaar and Faqra resorts, which offer 42 slopes and views of the capital city, Beirut. Guests looking for a short holiday close to home can enjoy long-weekend breaks in Lebanon, with a choice of the international 5 star hotel at Mzaar InterContinental (priced from AED3,650 per person for three nights half board) and the cosy 4 star Terre Brune Hotel.
Zermatt, Switzerland, one of Europe’s most sophisticated alpine resorts offers a traffic-free village and excellent skiing. With Etihad Holidays, families can take advantage of free ski-lift passes for children under nine. Seven nights at the 3 star Hotel La Couronne start from Dhs 7,575 per person including breakfast.
The well known French resort Val d’Isere, offers some of the best ski slopes in the world with a highly extensive network of ski runs suitable for all levels, as well as a great nightlife. Seven night packages start from Dhs 7,930 per person at the 3 star Hotel Kandahar, including bed and breakfast and coach transfers from Geneva. Verbier is the largest resort in the “4 Valleys” ski region and offers skiers and snowboarders more than 400km of piste – some of the Alps’ most challenging skiing – as well as a thriving nightlife. Verbier packages start from Dhs 8,055.
Ski breaks to the Italian resort of Cervinia start from Dhs 6,475 and include return Etihad Airways economy flights to Milan, seven nights’ accommodation with breakfast at the 3-star Hotel Perruquet.
Ski and snowboard breaks in the Austrian resorts of Saalbach, Kitzbuhel and Westendorf include accommodation, transfers and return economy flights to Munich with Etihad, with prices starting from Dhs 5, 995 at Saalbach, Dhs 5,670 at Kitzbühel and Dhs 5,995 at Westendorf.
In the USA, Eithad Holidays is offering packages to Vail and Breckendridge, Colorado – two of the USA’s leading ski resort areas – with flights on Etihad via Chicago. Seven nights at the 3-star Great Divide Lodge in Breckenridge is priced from Dhs 10,815 per person, including bed and breakfast and coach transfers from Denver.
The ski packages are for travel between 19 December 2009 and 17 April 2010, depending on the destination and snow conditions. |
