Singapore Launches iPhone Application for Business Travellers

Regional business travellers heading to Singapore can now take advantage of a new iPhone application, containing a directory of lifestyle venues and privileges plus GPS location maps, aimed at boosting their experience of the city which was recently named as having the world’s most dynamic and business-friendly economy.

The cutting-edge ‘City Advantage Guide’ has been specially designed for business visitors, listing details of high-end restaurants, shops, hotels and wellness establishments across the city to fully enhance the Singapore experience for  executive travellers.

More Middle East business people are expected to seek opportunities in the fast-paced, multicultural city after Singapore was named the world’s ‘Best Country for Economic Dynamism’ by Newsweek magazine and ‘Top International Meetings City’ for the third year in a row by the Union of International Associations.

In the wake of the global recession, Singapore’s economy has quickly rebounded and is likely to have the fastest GDP growth in the world this year. The Newsweek accolade was awarded due to Singapore’s pro-business and pro-trade policies, and ease of doing business in the Lion City where it takes just three days to set up a new business.

“Singapore is firmly established as a must-visit hub for Middle East business executives due to its open economy, top infrastructure, pro-business policies and trademark efficiency, which makes doing business here more pleasure than hard work,” said Jason Ong, Area Director, Middle East and Africa, STB.

“The launch of the City Advantage iPhone application shows that as well as being a top business destination, Singapore is also a cutting-edge city where executives can be sure to make the best use of their time both inside and outside the boardroom,” Ong added.

Newsweek’s first-ever report on “The World Best Countries’ was published on August 16 this year: it ranks the globe’s top nations based on a study of their economies, health, education, politics and quality of life.

As well as being ranked top for its dynamic economy the Lion City was given fourth place for education, seventh place for health and an overall ranking of 20.

The ‘City Advantage Guide’ application is available free of charge for download via the Apple App Store and the BTMICE section of www.yoursingapore.com.
