Air Arabia First International Airline To Fly To Nagpur

www.airarabia.com Air Arabia LLC, the first and only low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa region, is the first International airline to fly to Nagpur, India. Air Arabia’s Chairman and CEO led the delegation of senior officials, media, invitees and passengers on the inaugural flight.  Fares start from AED 199 for a one-way flight to Nagpur, exclusive of tax and surcharges, with similar fares for return flights.

Speaking at the occasion, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Air Arabia’s Chairman said, “Air Arabia is delighted to be the 1st International airline to fly to Nagpur today. We have a history of creating destinations and bringing affordable travel to more people across the region and look forward to doing the same in Nagpur. I would like to thank the Indian Government and Civil Aviation Authorities for granting us rights to fly to Nagpur.”

Flights to Nagpur are to operate 3 times a week, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing Sharjah at 22:30 to arrive in Nagpur at 03:20 the next day. Flights from Nagpur to Sharjah operate on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, departing at 04:05 to arrive in Sharjah at 06:20. The operation will also connect major cities around Nagpur to the Middle East as there are good rail and road connections to key cities in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and the rest of Maharashtra.

The chairman added, “We look forward to growing trade and tourism links between UAE and Nagpur and providing the opportunity to the people in and around Nagpur to travel to the UAE for the first time or just more often. We already have passengers on our flight today who are being able to fly directly to their home town for the first time and we will continue to fly to more new destinations to connect more people to the Middle East.”

Air Arabia currently flies from Sharjah to eighteen destinations, soon to be twenty: Aleppo and Damascus (Syria); Alexandria, Assiut, Luxor and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt); Bahrain; Beirut (Lebanon); Colombo (Sri Lanka); Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh (KSA), Doha (Qatar); Khartoum (Sudan); Kuwait; Mumbai and Nagpur (India); Muscat (Oman); and Sana’a (Yemen); Flights to our next new destination, Aqaba are to commence on October 19th 2005.

Committed to enabling customers unable to afford air travel in the past to start travelling throughout the region and those who do travel to travel more frequently, Air Arabia offers tremendous opportunities to travellers who are looking for competitive fares. The airline enables more convenient and frequent air travel, while providing the lowest fares in the market without sacrificing the standards of safety, quality or service offered. Bookings can be made through Air Arabia’s call centre in Sharjah on 5580000, through the website www.airarabia.com or appointed travel agents.

Air Arabia LLC was established as a fully fledged commercial airline of the United Arab Emirates on 3rd February 2003 by an Ameeri decree issued by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE. The Air Arabia fleet consists of five modern A320 aircraft flying directly to destinations in: Bahrain, Egypt, India, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Flights to Jordan are due to commence 19th October 05.
