Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces is delighted to announce that Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur, has been voted winner of the Editor's Choice Award 2008 for Gallivanter's Guide. The second most photographed property in India after The Taj Mahal, Taj Lake Palace, which rises ethereally from the waters of Lake Pichola, is arguably one of the most romantic hotels in the world.
This four-acre marble vision has 83 rooms and suites. It is the former summer pleasure palace of the Maharana of Udaipur embodying the opulence evident across the Taj brand, with each room distinct in design.
The Jiva Spa Boat was launched at Taj Lake Palace in Autumn 2008 to offer a unique spa experience. The boat recreates the splendour of the hotel, offering royal traditions of the House of Mewar and the rejuvenating experiences of the Jiva Spa.
The Gallivanter's Guide (www.gallivantersguide.com) is privately published subscription based monthly newsletter with the aim of unearthing idyllic places for the dedicated traveller.
