As we all know a tragic & disastrous Earthquake stuck Sikkim (Spl. North Sikkim) on the evening of 18/09/2011. Many buildings in Sikkim developed cracks, including the Sikkim Manipal University building. National Highway 31A was also badly hit ( The highway connects Sukna in Darjeeling (West Bengal) to Gangtok in Sikkim.), but the Army and the Border Roads Organization (BRO) have restored the road communication. All the roads (except North Sikkim ) has reopened. Everything is normal in all the three districts of Sikkim, i.e., West, South and East. These areas are now safe for the tourists to visit except for the place in the North District of Sikkim. The Hotels had again opened their gates to Welcome Tourist and Sikkim Lovers. North Sikkim consists of Tourist Destinations like Lachung,Chopta Valley,Yumthang Valley,Lachen Please be assured that except for North Sikkim all places are open as usual and are safe to Travel , We also hope North Sikkim will also regain its strength in few days to come. Our team is vigilant and we assure you for Safety and Comfort of Travelers |
