IANS Kerala, the land of abundant natural beauty, ayurvedic wonders and rich culture, is jazzing up its image and facilities to attract business travellers and other upmarket tourists. This is going to be one of the themes at the Kerala Travel Mart Sep 29-Oct 3.
"The state has earmarked Rs.740 million in the budget for improving civic facilities and better marketing," Kerala Tourism Minister P. Shankaran said.
"We have set up a working group for quick approval of projects which in some cases would require only the chief minister's approval."
Here to promote Kerala's tourism charms to delegates at the annual convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators, Mr Shankaran said the travel mart would be yet another effort to attract more investment. |
