www.citybreakexpo.com In the last few years Belgrade has become increasingly popular as a holiday destination. An increase in foreign visitors of over 50% to 414,684 in 2007, clearly indicates that Belgrade ’s tourism industry is growing significantly and turning the city into a new city break hot-spot for travellers. As part of a new drive to double annual visitors numbers to over 1 million by 2010, Belgrade will host Reed Travel Exhibitions ‘City Break Exhibition’, 9-11 June 2008. As a city break destination Belgrade has much to offer, less expensive than Spain or France it has equally, or even more, spectacular markets, bohemian districts, bars and restaurants located around the centre and along the rivers Danube and Sava . Not forgetting Belgrade ’s unmatched nightlife, which was included in the Lonely Planet Guide Best Top 10 Cities’ Famous Nightlife. With the city break holiday gathering pace, aided by the low cost airlines increasing their routes, Reed Travel Exhibitions is, for the third consecutive year, organising the City Break exhibition. This unique business forum allows city and regional tourist boards and suppliers to meet specialist operators in a commercial environment during two days of pre-scheduled appointments. Catherine Vaughan, Marketing Manager for City Break said: “The format has long proven to be the most effective way to conduct business at such focussed events. It matches delegates’ business interests and preferences with exhibitors and their products. Our objective centre on attracting international buyers with purchasing authority, via the hosted buyer programme, as well as senior management and industry professionals.” Olivera Lazovic, Director of Belgrade City Tourism, said: “We are delighted to host City Break 2008. Belgrade ’s city break market is starting to flourish; thanks to the commitment of the government, private sector and our national airline. Having the opportunity to welcome European tour operators into Belgrade will increase the feeling of confidence among stake holders in the sector and a belief that huge tourist potential is finally about to be realised in city. “
