The Doublebill event has announced that Thailand will be the host country for the next five annual IT&CMA (Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia) and CTW (Corporate Travel World) Asia-Pacific trade events, the region’s premier exhibitions and conferences for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) and Business Travel industries. Co-located since 2004, the two shows mark their 15th and 10th anniversaries respectively this year. The brand-new Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld in the downtown financial district serves as the venue this year after the event moved back from Pattaya where it was held in 2005 and 2006. TTG Asia Media also announced that for 2008, Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld will continue to be the official venue. The co-located event is scheduled to be held from 7 to 9 October 2008. Commenting on the landmark decision, Mr Darren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media, said, “We are extremely delighted to receive renewed strong support from Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). As the host country, Thailand has been instrumental in the growth of IT&CMA and CTW for the past years. The support and cooperation of our Thai partners – TCEB, TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand), TICA (Thailand Incentive and Convention Association) and THAI (Thai Airways International) – coupled with the aggressive development of MICE infrastructure and facilities in the country have enabled the event to reach new heights since IT&CMA first moved to Thailand in 2002. We look forward to forging even closer working relationships with our Thai partners in the coming five years to raise the bar, not just for the Doublebill but also for the whole industry in this region. Malinee Kitaphanich, Director of Meetings & Incentives at TCEB, said, “The Doublebill event has provided an effective platform for MICE suppliers in the country to secure more business internationally, and will continue to help Thailand achieve sustainable development on the international MICE scene. As the host country, TCEB continually strives to draw in new and relevant industry partners. This year we are grateful for the support of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), with whom we are working in full force to propel Bangkok as the MICE capital of Asia. We also aim to attract more international airlines to support the event in the near future.” In the next five years, we will work in full partnership with TTG to further boost attendance and build up the Doublebill event as a must-attend show and an important gateway to burgeoning business potential in this region”, she added.
