Olympic Air appoints Aviareps its GSA for Austria

Olympic Air (OA) enhances its global presence and extends the existing cooperation with Aviareps to Austria. By choosing the multinational airline and tourism management expert as GSA for this new market, the Greek airline once again relies on the market know-how of the leading representation company. Whilst conducting all ticketing activities directly through Aviareps’ subsidiary in Frankfurt (Germany), the Austrian team takes over all sales and marketing actions. Besides Germany and Austria, AVIAREPS already acts as GSA for Olympic Air in twelve other markets in Europe, Asia and North America.

Olympic Air’s network is efficiently designed to ensure passengers easy access to a comprehensive domestic network connecting through its base in Athens with various national destinations. OA operates approximately 170 flights per day, with a network of 40 destinations (8 international and 32 domestic).

Domestic routes include flights to and from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Alexandroupolis, Limnos, Mytilini, Chios, Corfu, Samos, Kos, Rhodes, Syros, Mykonos, Santorini, Heraklion, Chania, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Ioannina. Additionaly Olympic Air operates flights from Thessaloniki to Rhodes, Heraklion, Chania, Mytilini, Skiathos, Mykonos and from Heraklion to Rhodes. Olympic Air also operates Public Service Obligation (PSOs) routes from Athens to Astypalea, Leros, Milos, Naxos, Paros, Kalymnos, Kythira, Ikaria, Skiathos, Karpathos and from Rhodes to Karpathos, Kasos, Sitia, Kos, Leros, Astypalea and Kastelorizo. OA operates international services to Amsterdam, Belgrade, Bucharest, Larnaca, Sofia, Cairo, Tirana and Istanbul.

OA has established code-share service agreements with major airlines, including Delta Airlines for flights to/from New York, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tampa, Orlando, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver further Etihad Airways flights to/from Abu-Dhabi, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Cyprus Airways with an extensive partnership on several domestic and international destinations on the carriers’ respective networks. OA has also recently initiated a code-share agreement with Aegean Airlines.

Olympic Air (OA) is a new airline, registered in Greece and born from the acquisition of the formerly state-owned flag carrier of Greece, ‘Olympic Airlines’ by the Marfin Investment Group in April 2009. Olympic Air launched scheduled operations on 29 September 2009, adopting the historic name and logo of ‘Olympic Airlines’ while employing a dynamic, modern approach to the company’s management and operation.
