Within its first year of operations, the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) adds a golden feather to its culinary hat at the recently concluded Salon Culinaire at Diyafa 2012 which took place from 16-18 October. The Centre took home four (4) medals including gold in the Arabic Mezza category.
QNCC participated in a total of five (5) categories. The gold medal was awarded to the Junior Sous Chef Abd El Rahman. Adam Mather-Brown, General Manager of the QNCC, said, “We are very proud and extremely ecstatic with our award-winning team. Despite their busy schedules with back-to-back events in the Centre, they managed to take the time to practice and perfect their masterpieces to showcase their culinary skills to Doha. We have received outstanding reviews on our food offerings in the Centre by our international delegates and it is such an honour to also receive the recognition by our fellow peers in Doha.”
“In addition to delivering complex events, we at QNCC, believe that it is the perfect platform to showcase the best contemporary Arabic cuisine and hospitality to the rest of the world,” he added.
Chef Abd El Rahman commenced his professional career more than 12 years ago and has honed his culinary skills in the Arabic cuisine when he started working in the region back in year 2005. His team members Chef Mohamed Anish and Chef Chameera also fell in love with the Middle East and worked in several international organizations in the region before joining the QNCC team.
