Mِvenpick Hotels & Resorts Return To Yemen

The international hotel group based in Switzerland continues its expansion into the Middle East with the opening of a new and luxurious 5-star Mِvenpick hotel in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a. The 338-room hotel is ideally suited to both business and leisure travelers. With its for the city unique Spa it sets new standards for the hotel industry in Sana’a.

The Mِvenpick Hotel Sana’a is distinguished by its breathtaking views of the Old City of Sana’a and its ideal location on a hill. The hotel is situated in the newly developed and prestigious area of Dhahar Hemyer, just 7 minutes from the city center and 20 minutes from the Sana’a International Airport.

The hotel’s 338 rooms, including 39 suites, are all elegantly decorated in a luxurious and contemporary style that meets the highest standards. Exclusive services are offered on the hotel’s three Executive Floors, where an Executive Lounge, meeting rooms and express check-in and check-out are among the standard services. Guests may enjoy Mِvenpick's renowned dining excellence in the stylish surroundings of the hotel’s main restaurant, the specialty Moroccan restaurant "Dar Fez" or in the "Al Fresco" pool restaurant and bar. The hotel’s culinary services are complemented by the Panorama Lobby Café and a Gourmet Shop offering delicacies for take-away.

The hotel is equipped with Public Wireless LAN throughout and no less than 10 spacious conference and banquet rooms of various sizes, including a 1000 m2 ballroom catering for weddings, conferences and large-scale events for up to 1500 guests, as well as a Business Center boasting state-of-the-art facilities.

Guests relax in the hotel’s indoor and outdoor swimming pools, Jacuzzi, sauna or fitness center, or on the floodlit squash and tennis courts. The hotel’s exclusive Sivalai Spa facilities, the only one in town, with 8 treatment rooms, are managed by the Thai Heritage Spa Co. Ltd. The hotel’s broad range of services is rounded off by a shopping arcade and a Kids’ Club for younger guests.

According to the hotel's General Manager Roger Tannous, "The Mِvenpick Hotel Sana’a is the largest and most exclusive hotel in the city and sets new standards for the hotel industry in Sana’a, reflecting our contribution to the promotion of tourism in the region. Sana’a offers a great deal to both business and leisure travelers, and we look forward to pampering our guests in the spirit of true Swiss hospitality."

"Yemen was one of the few white spots on the map of our expansion into the Middle East", explains Andreas Mattmüller, Senior Vice President Middle East, Mِvenpick Hotels & Resorts. "Following on our hotel presence in Aden in the 1990s, we are delighted to return to Yemen with the opening of the Mِvenpick Hotel Sana’a. This important step has been facilitated by our excellent partnership with the International Company for Touristic Investments Ltd., the owning company of this exceptional hotel."
