Jana: Libya will begin construction of the new international airport at Tripoli next August after five specialised international companies from Brazil, Turkey, France, Germany and Japan recently signed the contract for the project, an official source affirmed.
The project covers the construction of an air terminal capable of serving 20 million passengers annually, a VIP lounge, aircraft parking areas, runways, corridors, alleys and roads, plane maintenance hangars, cargo transport station and a control tower.
Libya is seeking to develop its tourist industry and expansion of the infrastructure, including hotels and airports, is a vital requirement.
