www.sana.org Syria enjoys diverse natural , historical and archeological factors represented by what has been left by the consecutive civilizations that Syria has so far witnessed .Such civilizations have left their distinguished fingerprints embodied in the garrisons , palaces, old cities, traditional industries and by the scattered historical sites throughout the country.
Tourism plays and important role in the sustainable developmental process in Syria since it is an important economic and social sector which is considered as a vital national economic part of the national economy and an important means of the civilized dialogue among the peoples.
Law No. 65 issued by President Bashar al-Assad on 20.11.2002 stipulates the establishment of Chambers of Tourism and Union of Chambers of Tourism to assume the task of promoting internal and external tourism.
The Ministry of Tourism , for its part, has taken procedures to contribute to the enforcement of the aforementioned law by granting licenses to hundreds of tourist projects in the Syrian governorates.
The chambers of tourism are also taking part in the decision -making and in monitoring the good quality of the Syrian tourist product. |
