www.sana.org Excavation works carried out in the Syrian coastal city of Lattakia yielded three family burial sites dating back to the Roman period around 2000 years ago.
Jamal Heidar, director of Lattakia Ruins Department, told SANA staff reporter that the new family Roman tombs were unearthed as heavy machinery were digging for foundations of a new building in Mar Takla neighborhood.
He added that other findings were excavated in the site, including clay lamps and pitchers, glass handicrafts along with some flower leaves. أ¢â‚¬إ“These findings and discoveries complement another set of discoveries in other similar burial sitesأ¢â‚¬آ¦they are of great value regarding the history of Lattakia city,أ¢â‚¬آ he said.
Mr. Heidar added his Department immediately documented the new findings. |
