Syrian Times 4th March 2004 Aleppo is considered today as a calendar helping to cross references kingdoms and civilizations
of the ancient world. أ¢â‚¬آڈ
A German excavation team sometimes ago announced the discovery of a four thousand years old temple dedicated to the God Of Weather. أ¢â‚¬آڈ
The German archaeologists managed to clean up a mural dating back to the first Babylonian epoch depicting the God of Weather standing on a warriorأ¢â‚¬â„¢s chariot tied to a two- horned wild bull and guarded by a soldier carrying a military bow. أ¢â‚¬آڈ
This mural is one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the last century, with an impressive size of 9 X 30 meters. The temple itself was built on cedar columns brought from Mount Lebanon. أ¢â‚¬آڈ
Another significant finding of this temple was the discovery of letters exchanged between the Governor of Aleppo and the famous king of Mesopotamia (Bilad Ma Bayn Al- Nahrain) Hamourabi. أ¢â‚¬آڈ
The discovery may form a missing link and help resolve the mystery related to the exact dates of the life and reign of Hamourabi. If the archaeologists can find other letters exchanged between the Governor of Aleppo and an Egyptian Pharoah King, this will help determine the corresponding dates of Hamourabiأ¢â‚¬â„¢s epoch.
