Minister of Tourism Saadallah Agha al-Qala'a on Saturday discussed with Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta and the accompanying delegation means of enhancing tourism relations between the two countries, exchanging expertise and holding joint tourism workshops.
The Minister called for holding a workshop to be attended by tourism companies form the two sides to discuss capabilities and exchange media delegations for activating tourism movement.
Agha al-Qal'a said that tourism has provided 23 percent of the foreign currency in Syria, adding that the 13 percent of the employees in the country work in tourism sector while the number of tourists who visit the country has increased by 15 percent.
For his part, Meta indicated that the Albanian government will send a delegation of the Ministry of Tourism to study different aspects of bilateral cooperation in the domain of tourism due to the strategic position Syria enjoys in the region.
He underlined the importance of launching direct flights between Syria and Albania in beefing up tourism exchange between the two countries. |
