www.bbc.co.uk Egypt is hoping a pyramid built of paper messages will help secure it the 2010 football World Cup.
The sports minister, Ali Eddin Helal, said he expected around 20 million messages of support for the bid to be collected from all over Egypt.
They would be arranged into a pyramid, which it is estimated would stand 15 metres (50 feet) high.
Egypt hopes to be named the first African World Cup host when the decision is announced on 15 May.
Fifa, the international football federation, has already decided the 2010 tournament will be held in Africa.
Egypt, Morocco and South Africa have emerged as the main contenders, after a joint bid by Libya and Tunisia was rejected by Fifa president Sepp Blatter.
Mr Helal said the paper pyramid would be unveiled on 30 April near its more famous stone ancestors, the three pyramids of Giza, just south of Cairo.
Cars would travel across the country to collect messages from Egyptians who wanted to see one of the world's biggest sporting events in their country, he said.
