www.all africa.com The Nile Hotel and the International Conference Centre will be closed for renovation on December 18 and will be re-opened on November 20, 2005, Serena Hotel officials, have said.
Serena managing director Mahmud Janmohamed, said the project, which will transform the hotel into a five-star facility, would cost $26.5m.
Janmohamed said after renovation, the hotel would be re-opened as Serena Kampala Hotel.
"We are evaluating tender results. We will appoint the contractor on December 14 and close the hotel and conference centre on December 18," he said during a press conference at the International Conference Centre on Tuesday.
Janmohamed said they had paid $1.2m upfront, $64,000 as concession to Nile Hotel and sh252m to the Government as a statutory requirement. |
