Khaleej Times: Australia has emerged as one of the favoured tourist destinations for UAE nationals, Andrew Oldfield of Tourism Australia, an Australian tourism body, has said.
The last few years have registered a steady hike in the number of UAE nationals heading to Australia, Oldfield, the Dubai-based representative of Tourism Australia, said.
As part of its tourism promotion campaign, Tourism Australia organized a road show for tour operators as well as tourists in the emirate. The Australian delegation included several tourism agents and representatives from popular Australian destinations.
“From a meagre 3,263 UAE nationals visiting Australia in 1995, an average of 25,000 UAE nationals have been visiting Australia over the past few years,” Oldfield pointed out. “Gulf visitors are rapidly discovering the Australian delights and much of what these destinations have to offer in a very safe and exciting environment,” Oldfield added |
