For Middle East guests looking for the ideal family getaway, England offers unforgettable family-fun experiences all within close proximity to London.
Alton Towers, Legoland, Chester Zoo and historic Stonehenge are just some of the top attractions on offer throughout the summer months.
“A great attraction or activity can often make the perfect holiday. Middle East families should take advantage of England’s great summer weather and endless activities and events, all within close proximity to major cities across England,” said Carol Maddison, UAE Manager, VisitBritain.
Chester Zoo, Chester
Chester Zoo, located two hours away from London by train, offers over 7000 animals and 400 different species, including some of the most endangered species on the planet. In the 110 acres of parkland Middle East guests can see Black Rhinos, giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, reptiles and birds amongst many others.
Legoland, Windsor
Legoland, just under an hour away by train from Central London, offers a full day of fun where kids can take advantage of more than 50 thrilling rides, shows and attractions to choose from. Visitors from the region can also see some of the most exciting cities in the world at Miniland - which uses 35 million Lego pieces to create scenes from London, Paris and Amsterdam.
Stonehenge, Wiltshire
Located in Wiltshire, Stonehenge is just under two hours from London by train. Stonehenge stands impressively as a prehistoric monument of unique importance, a World Heritage Site, surrounded by remains of ceremonial and domestic structures - some older than the monument itself. Many of these features - earthworks, burial mounds and other circular ‘henge’ monuments - are accessible by road or public footpath. Stonehenge’s orientation on the rising and setting sun has always been one of its remarkable features. Whether this was simply because the builders came from a sun-worshipping culture, or because - as some scholars believe - the circle and its banks were part of a huge astronomical calendar, remains a mystery.
