www.nst.com “Our main concern is to make the stay of Arab visitors enjoyable and satisfactory. After all, their average spending power is high compared with others,” said Ahmad Zahid after launching Al Safira Corner at PNB Darby Park Executive Suites, recently.
Al Safira Corner is an exclusive Arabic outlet, specially open for the Arab summer holiday which ends in September. It features Middle-Eastern dishes like tabouleh, taouk (marinated grilled chicken), kabsa white rice (a traditional Arabic rice dish) and sweets like rizbil halib.
Located on the second floor, it is open daily from noon to 4pm for lunch and from 6pm to 11pm for dinner.
The executive suites also have Arab-influenced snacks like kebab together with burgers and sandwiches served at Poolside Terrace which opens from 10am to 6pm daily.
For the three-month period, Darby Park will have 24-hour room service and a ticketing counter to meet guests’ travelling needs. Other initiatives include menus and signages in Arabic a well as Arabic-speaking guest service officers.
At the function, Ahmad Zahid also launched the first local Arab newspaper titled Ahlan Wasahlan ( which means ‘welcome’). This will provide detailed information on local tourism activities. The monthly newspaper is published by ABST Sdn Bhd.
Also at the function were Permodalan Nasional Berhad chief executive officer Tan Sri Ahmad Kamal Piah, PNB Darb Park resident manager Yusof Ramli and ABST executive chairman Isemaail Basri. |
