The Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2005, organised by Beijing Tourism Administration, will be held in the Beijing Exhibition Centre between 22 and 24 June 2006.
With her rich tourism resources, Beijing is an important tourism haven for domestic and foreign travellers.
Every year, the number of domestic and foreign tourists who visit Beijing exceeds 80 million. Beijing is also a major market for outbound tourism, with over 40 million tourists travelling outside of Beijing annually.
Responding to the proposals and requests of numerous local and international tourism operators, the first International Tourism Expo was held in July 2004 with tremendous success. Exhibitors, buyers and observers from 50 countries and regions around the world and over 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China gathered in Beijing for this event, where a few hundred tourism enterprises took the centre stage along with their products.
The expo, which lasted for three days, occupied an exhibition area of 11,000m2. It gained widespread attention from Beijing, the world and even international tourism industries, and attracted more than 20,000 professional visitors and public to participate in the exhibition and trade talks.
As Beijing Olympics 2008 draws near, Beijing' s tourism industry is gradually becoming a centre of focus for the public. This is an excellent opportunity to develop tourism, and it hoped that Beijing's tourism development can be pushed to a new level.
The theme for this year's expo is Experience the Magnificent Culture of China. Unveil the New Image of Beijing Olympics. It will be held for three days inside an exhibition area of 12,000m2, and will surpass BITE 2004 in terms of size, number of exhibitors and quality. |
